When Mike Schultis and Meridith Sundberg founded SSI Construction in 2009, they didn’t just start a construction company – they launched a vision for a different kind of builder. Opening their doors during one of the most challenging economic periods in recent history, SSI’s founders turned what could have been a disadvantage into the cornerstone of our success.
“Like many new business owners, we had grand visions,” reflects COO Mike Schultis. “But we quickly realized we were settling in for a marathon, not a sprint.” This early recognition shaped SSI’s fundamental approach: build strong foundations first, then grow strategically and sustainably.

Today, our portfolio reflects this evolution, with a balanced mix of 60% multi-family and 40% commercial projects.
